attack on a reporter in Metropolis, wrath of the editorial board

28/02/2011 - The Editorial Board of Metropolis, on behalf of all my colleagues who make up the structure, expressed deep disdain for the vulgar and violent attack suffered by the journalist Fabio Colombo this afternoon, the newspaper reporter, engaged in its work of Sant'Egidio Montalbino. Once again we must acknowledge with regret that information workers are left in the hands of people who, to vent their power, they have nothing better to do than blame those who do just their job.

There is, for several months, a climate of intimidation that prevents people with honesty and tact even come close to sensitive events, to carry on the journalistic profession with passion and attention.

The Cdr of Metropolis, underlining once again the climate of violence against reporters, also called the police for greater protection against anyone who tells the story an area as difficult as this. Expressing solidarity with fellow professional Fabio Colombo, all of whom appreciate the professional and human qualities, he asks the court to identify the actors in this absurd violence and proceed according to rules laid down by the Criminal Code.
The Citizens' Committee of Boscotrecase is associated with the indignation and the request to the judicial authorities to punish those responsible for the cowardly aggression
